We're closing this year with the new Xsens DOT release. Read all about new features in this blog.

Synchronization

The synchronization means enable all sensors to be synchronized to a common time base.

In this release we've improved synchronization and now it is not required for every measurement. Keep working with multiple sensors without starting additional synchronization processes.

We've added a synchronization status to help you understand if the sensor is synced or not

Additional sensor fusion profile

To enable even more application scenarios with Xsens DOT we've added a new sensor fusion filter profile

Two filter profiles are now available

Filter profile

Description

General

Default filter profile for general human motions

Dynamic

For fast and jerky human motions like sprinting

The Filter Profile that is best suited for a specific application should be selected before measurement

Magnetic field mapper

To enable even more application scenarios with Xsens DOT we've added a new sensor fusion filter profile

Adjustable output rate

Real-time streaming mode

1Hz, 4Hz, 10Hz, 12Hz, 15Hz, 20Hz, 30Hz and 60Hz

Less data packet loss with lower rates

Recording mode

1Hz, 4Hz, 10Hz, 12Hz, 15Hz, 20Hz, 30Hz, 60Hz and 120Hz

Extended recording time with lower rates

More accurate motion data with 120Hz rate in dynamic applications

  •
  •
  • Extend your development options with Xsens DOT sensor button callback tp let your app users control their session mobile free

Magnetic field mapper

Gives you better product experience with the magnetic field mapping

What’s new

Allow user to do MFM with 5 sensors at the same time

One click to start the MFM process and begin to the rotation, no more operations

üClear indication of the rotation progress

üClear indication of MFM status

Button callback

New feature! Extends development options with Xsens DOT sensor button callback to let your app users control their session without mobile

Give out a BLE notification alone with sensor timestamp (ms) if a single click (10~800ms) of the power button is detected

Refer to “Button callback” section in SDK programming guide and BLE services specifications

Firmware update notification in SDK

New feature! Enables notifications for a new firmware available in applications developed with SDK

An interface in SDK to send out a notification if a new firmware is available

Applications developed with SDK can have an immediate notification for a new firmware

Refer to “Firmware update notification” section in SDK programming guide

RSSI in SDK and Xsens DOT App

New feature! Enables Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) to let you know how good your mobile device can receive signals from DOT sensors

New functions in SDK to read the RSSI values during scanning and connection
