Catrix by Daniel Volosozhar Takes Top Spot, Stanislav Petruk's Memoir Inc Grabs Second Place

After careful consideration by judges Ace Ruele of Creature Bionics and Jae Solina of JSFilmz, "Catrix" by Independent creator Daniel Volosozhar emerged as the first-place winner, while "Memoir Inc" by Stanislav Petruk secured the second-place position.
The contest, which received 41 submissions from animators worldwide, showcased outstanding creativity and technical prowess. During the contest, Movella called on animators to download the Xsens Motion Capture Data recorded during an indoor skydiving session. Participants applied their creativity and animation skills using this motion data to produce animated shorts not exceeding 1 minute in duration. The submissions received were all intriguing and underscored the value of Xsens Motion Capture Data – accurate, clean, and seamlessly integrable into any animation pipeline.
Daniel Volosozhar, the first-place winner, will be taking home the Xsens Indie Starter Bundle, featuring the Xsens Awinda Starter, StretchSense MoCap Pro Studio gloves, and a special bonus – an extended 6 months of MVN Animate Pro, providing a full year of software access. The Indie Starter Bundle is being offered by Movella through the end of 2023 to support independent creators in the US and Canada who have been affected by the Hollywood writers’ and actors’ strikes and offers over $5,000 of savings to qualifying Indies.
