At the Department of Robotics of Nazarbayev University School of Science and Technology, the MVN Analyze is being used for both teaching and research purposes. The system is being used in various courses such as Introduction to Robotics and student internships. It also is an integral part of several research projects at the Advanced Robotics and Mechatronics Systems (ARMS) Laboratory ranging from mobile robot tele-operation to gesture recognition.

“We are using real-time features of the Xsens Motion Capture System to develop advanced tele-operation algorithms for mobile robots. The system is very intuitive. Undergraduate students were able to use it during their summer internships after one day of training”, says Prof. Atakan Varol of the Nazarbayev University.

Nazarbayev University is an autonomous research university located in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. The university was founded in 2009 as a result of the personal initiative of the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, for whom it is named. It is positioned as a world-class teaching and research university. It is an English-medium institution, with an international faculty and staff. Currently, it has over 2000 students.
